We’re excited to welcome in the summer season at Bowden House B&B, and things are already in full swing! As the days grow longer and the Borders landscape bursts with life, we look forward to greeting more walkers, hikers, and nature-lovers arriving to explore this stunning part of the world.

Nestled in the peaceful village of Bowden, just a few miles from Melrose and St. Boswells, our luxury bed and breakfast offers the perfect base to soak up all that the Scottish Borders has to offer this summer. Whether you're here to explore the region’s history, climb the Eildon Hills, or visit the three abbeys, Bowden House B&B is the perfect base for your adventures.

Summer in the Borders is not just about the views, there’s a wonderful buzz in the air with more visitors and events getting people together:

• Open Air Concerts – Pack a picnic and enjoy live music under the big sky in stunning surroundings throughout the Borders.

• Borders Union Show (Kelso, July 25–26) – An unmissable highlight of the rural calendar, bringing together the best in local agriculture, crafts and community.

• Roxburgh Rocks 2025 (August 3, Floors Castle) – A fabulous day out with live music, street food and the stunning backdrop of Floors Castle.

• Edge Festival (July 30–31, Lilliardsedge) – A lively weekend filled with music, food and festivities, set in the beautiful Borders countryside.

• Edinburgh Festival and Fringe (August 1st to 25th) - the world's largest performance arts festival featuring over 51,000 scheduled performances from 60 different countries. Just a hop on the train and you can immerse yourself in its vibrant atmosphere all around the city.

A Summer of Relaxation and Reconnection

After a day of exploration, unwind with a glass of wine on our sundeck, or relax with a book in our peaceful sitting room. Each of our three luxurious ensuite bedrooms has been designed for maximum comfort, with touches of antique charm and sweeping views of the hills beyond.

And of course, your mornings begin with a delicious breakfast locally sourced and lovingly prepared to get you going for the day!

Whether you prefer hiking the hills, riverside cycles, casting a line in the river Tweed, or simply taking in the scenery with a gentle stroll, summer at Bowden House offers something for every pace.

We only host up to six guests at a time, making each stay personal, relaxing, and memorable. Here, you arrive as guests and leave as friends. We look forward to welcoming you this summer!
